Welcome to the Gwent Branch of the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO) website.

The Gwent Branch of NARPO consists of a membership from both the old Newport Borough Police Force and the Monmouthshire Constabulary. These two forces amalgamated in 1967 forming Gwent Constabulary and now known as Heddlu Gwent Police.

The County of Gwent is a preserved policing county situated on the Welsh border, adjoined by the South Wales and Dyfed-Powys policing areas, and is reached on the western end of the two Severn Bridge Road Crossings and is sometimes referred to as the ‘Gateway to Wales’.

Further details about us can be read here, together with a list of our newly elected Committee members.
