Sad News Winter 2019/2020

Sadly, since the last meeting we have lost the following members. Retired Detective Chief Supt Charles Nunn - Charles had a distinguished career with Newport Borough Police, the Bechuanaland Mounted Police, No: 8 Regional Crime Squad and latterly with the Royal Oman Police. Retired DCI Michael Johnson – Mike joined Monmouthshire Constabulary in May 1965. He served at various stations in the county, specialising in CID and the Regional Crime Squad. He retired from Gwent Police in October 1993. Mike and his wife were keen supporters of NARPO social functions and Mike also acted as the auditor for the Branch accounts for many years. Retired PS David Kenneth Rogers - Ken joined Monmouthshire Constabulary upon completion of his National Service, serving in Abertillery and Usk before retiring after 33 years. Retired PC Ricky Lee Jones - Ricky joined Kent Constabulary before transferring home to join Gwent Police where he served initially at Newport Central and Bettws. The latter part of his service was spent as a traffic officer and he retired in 2017 following an injury on duty. Retired PS Terry Gareth (Reg) Rees – Reg joined South Wales Police in 1973 and served initially in Mountain Ash and Aberdare and upon promotion in the Rhondda, Cardiff and Caerphilly areas and on the Area Response Group. He transferred to Gwent Police in 1996, where he served in Caerphilly, Bargoed and Rhymney. He retired in 2002. Rhiannon Williams - Rhiannon was the widow of the late PC 127 Brian Williams (Traffic)
